Inspiration for Roasted Grapes over Sweet Potatoes
Jump to RecipeAbout a year and a half ago, I learned how amazing cooked, or grilled fruit can be for dessert. I even made an award winning grilled peach pie last fall at our local Fall Festival! I figured roasted grapes would be equally as amazing! One night we had roasted sweet potatoes, and I served roasted grapes over them and it was a hit! Such a simple recipe for healthy-ish dessert! This is a quick and easy recipe.

If, like me, you have ever bought grapes just to get home to find they are so sour you can’t stand to eat them, roast them! Roasting them with a drizzle of olive oil and honey transorms these sour grapes into a treat with a sweet sauce! You could even use a pat of butter for an even more decadent dessert!

The longer I roasted the sour grapes in my cast iron pan on the grill, the sweeter they got. The sweet sauce that they made, was delishious drizzled over the sweet potatoes.

How to Turn Sour Grapes into a Sweet Treat!
Simply roast sour grapes in the oven or on a medium hot grill until they soften and create a sweet sauce. For a little spice, add a tiny sprinkle of cinnamon on top!
You don’t have to serve them over sweet potatoes. Try eating them alone, on ice cream, yogurt or serve with charcuterie.

Optional
- ⅛ tsp Cinnamon optional

- Wash grapes and pat dry.
- Remove most of the grapes from the stems, reserving four small bundles on the stems for garnish.
- Add grapes and a drizzle of oil to a small cast-iron pan and place on the preheated grill. Close the lid and roast them until the grapes produce a sauce, about 15 minutes. To thicken the sauce, turn the heat up to about 450℉ and simmer a few more minutes, or until the sauce reduces.
- Add a sprinkle of salt and cinnnamon if desired. Use caution, the grapes and sauce will be scalding hot!
- Allow the roasted grapes to cool for several minutes before serving.
