Stormy Waters Cocktail

Stormy Waters Cocktail

Compared to a Traditional Dark ‘n Stormy® (Visit Goslings.com/recipes for their trademarked cocktail) made with rum, ginger beer, and lime at about 195 kcal, my "lighter version" substitutes beer with ginger ale and uses half the rum. My "Stormy Waters Cocktail" is a slightly lighter version at 141 kcal. I use Appleton's spiced rum, fresh lime, and orange juice, and garnish with slices of lime, orange, and fresh ginger. Treat yourself by using a fancy glass, like my vintage stout glass, and a decorative swizzle stick.

Notes

TIPS
* For an even lighter version, use diet ginger ale and add extra ice to split this into two drinks.
*Optional - rim the glass with lime and/or ginger and sugar.
* Buy fresh ginger and store it in the freezer. Leave it on the counter a few minutes to soften enough to slice, or grate frozen ginger in recipes.
